چکیده

Direct current SQUIDs based on YBaCuO thin film nanobridges have been investigated. Critical current densities Jc of the devices are up to 3310 6 A/cm at T577 K and show a temperature dependence of (12T/Tc) . High values of the voltage-flux modulation are observed ~8 mV peak to peak at 77 K, 45 mV at 4.2 K!. The temperature dependence of the SQUID modulation is found to be essentially different from the one of the conventional weak link SQUID. We discuss our results by considering degradation of the nanobridge area during structuring, which leads to a transition from SNS to SS8S type junction with decreasing temperature. © 1996 American Institute of Physics. @S0003-6951~96!02608-5#

Metastability in a nanobridge-based hysteretic dc SQUID embedded in a superconducting microwave resonator

We study the metastable response of a highly hysteretic dc superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) made of a niobium loop interrupted by two nanobridges. We excite the SQUID with an alternating current and with direct magnetic flux, and find different stability zones forming diamond-like structures in the measured voltage across the SQUID. When such a SQUID is embedded in a transmis...

The physics of Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices (SQUIDs)

(SQUIDs) Joey Lambert December 8, 2008 Josephson junctions are interesting devices that provide a great deal of physics to research, both experimental and theoretical. The device was first proposed by Brian Josephson in short concise paper in 1962 [1], which predicts a resistance-less supercurrent that passes through the very thin insulating layer in between two macroscopic size superconductors...

Toward ultra high magnetic field sensitivity YBa2Cu3O72d nanowire based superconducting quantum interference devices

We report on measurements of YBa2Cu3O7 d nanowire based Superconducting QUantum Interference Devices (nanoSQUIDs) directly coupled to an in-plane pick-up loop. The pick-up loop, which is coupled predominantly via kinetic inductance to the SQUID loop, allows for a significant increase of the effective area of our devices. Its role is systematically investigated and the increase in the effective ...

Note: Highly sensitive superconducting quantum interference device microsusceptometers operating at high frequencies and very low temperatures inside the mixing chamber of a dilution refrigerator.

We report the experimental results that show the operation of superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) microsusceptometers immersed in the (3)He-(4)He mixture inside the mixing chamber of a dilution refrigerator at high frequency (1 MHz) and down to very low temperatures (13 mK). The devices are based on highly sensitive and easy-to-use commercial SQUID sensors. The integrated suscep...
